Psychedelic Integration
What is Psychedelic Integration Therapy?
Psychedelic Integration is a specialized therapy designed to support individuals in making sense of psychedelic experience and seeing them in the greater context of their lives. These types of experiences can include substances like psilocybin (a compound found in magic mushrooms), Ketamine, DMT, and Ayahuasca. This type of therapy acknowledges that psychedelic journeys can be healing, profound, mystical, spiritual, and transformative but also potentially challenging or confusing for some.
How is this Different from Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy?
Psychedelic-Assisted therapy is conducted in conjunction with a mind altering compound such as Ketamine. In this modality, psychotherapy is conducted during an individual’s psychedelic journey. At this point in time Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is the only legal method of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy in the state of Texas. Psychedelic Integration therapy is conducted after an individual has had a psychedelic journey.
Does Psychedelic-Integration Apply to Microdosing?
Absolutely! A microdose of a psychedelic is a small amount that is generally below the threshold of noticeable alterations in perception and cognition. Microdosing is a method that has many potential benefits including a reduction in mental health symptoms. Experiences while microdosing can still be transformative, healing, and worth exploring.
When are the Psychedelics Taken?
It is important to note that Psychedelic integration Therapy does not seek to promote the use of mind altering substances. Instead, it is a way of supporting people who are already journeying on their own time. This type of therapy aims to maximize the healing benefits of psychedelics while minimizing potential risks and challenges through responsible and informed psychotherapeutic practices.
